If I can't fix the problem that is what this thread will end in.

I took it out of storage had it runnin it was fine. I put it in water for the spring test run and it started fine. Drove about 100 meters with throttle atalittle over idle and kaput, nothing, it just stalled and woundt start again. It'll crank just won't start
Also I am a total newby here and literally have no clue what I'm doing

I did notice almost like a pressure sound comming from the right lower end of the motor. Almost like there's a pin prick in the water jacket,
Either way I jb welded the spot (only because it was so small)

Any advice here would be great maybe aome suggestion on what it could be.IMAG0934.jpgIMAG0933.jpgIMAG0935.jpgIMAG0936.jpgIMAG0934.jpgIMAG0933.jpgIMAG0935.jpgIMAG0936.jpg

We need more info to help. Are you getting fuel and spark. Need to find out if you have water in your fuel. What part did you JB weld? No offence just asking do to limited problem information, but do you know how a 4 cycle engine works?

No offence taken like I said I'm very new to boating. How would I check spark?. For some reason I thought if I pulled the plugs and cranked it I'd blow myself up lol. I put pictures of the motor I'm there because I don't really know what the hell it is, I'm pretty sure it's a 1989 mercruiser v6/205 thunderbolt ignition thing. I looked at the fuel filter earlier its looked ok but I still took it out and tried to crank it, nothin. And I hope it's getting fuel I just put fuel in it hahahaha. There was gas in the cup at the filter so I imagine it is getting fuel

Can I spray quick start in this without blowing it up?

No, don't spray starting fluid. That's bad for the internals. To see if it will start put around an ounce of fuel in the carb & try to start it.

The little yellowish hose that's laying in front of the carb belongs on the hose barb that's right next to it. Put in on there, it will probably improve the way the motor runs.

I would recommend calling in a professional. While there are several things you can do , you do need to know for the most part how things work. I/we might mention something and in the normal process see nothing with it but if you don't know the basics there could be some dangerous and catastrophic out comes.

That hose is supposed to be clear and be empty, so if you see any fluid (fuel) coming in the hose the fuel pump needs to be changed. The other end goes to a barb on your fuel pump. Mine looked like that 5 years ago, I just changed the hose and it's been fine since.

ps. AllDodge has a point. If you aren't at least a little mechanical it could be dicey.

The hose is a return line to your fuel pump. Seems to me if you knew anything about motors you would know how to check for spark?? You didn't run out of gas did you? Some of the prior posts make alot of sense. You can blow yourself and your boat up if you make a mistake. Be careful or get some professional help, it will be alot cheaper in the long run.

I do just not carb that are this size. Effin things huge. And I can check for spark I was under the impression (why I have no idea) that I can't just pull plugs out ground them and crank. Some reason I thought a spark near the engine was bad, and could blow up. Probably because all the blow yourself up warnings I get. The spot I jb welded, what's this about water coming out?.

See I thought the pump was in the tank, like a car. So that return is to the fuel pump then?. So that could be it

No it's a tell tale, not a return. If the pump fails there is a 2nd diaphragm in there to get you home. But if it fails that hose gets fuel in it as an indication that you need to get a pump.
You can check for spark if your bilge is free of fuel vapors. Run your blower always before a start. I run mine as I come down to slow speeds too. When you are moving along there is air flow to keep the vapors down.

As in fuel pump need replacing, not just putting that hose back on
