I feel this may be a silly question but is the rubber gromet the only thing holding the sensor in the well? I tried to dig slightly on the rubber already but didn't want to destroy it. I also didn't want to just yank the wire coming out of it. Figured I would ask first.

I have the oem but the early manuals don't seem to go into details, I guess the figure you must at least know some things.

Re: sensor removal

If you are referring to the temperature switch with the tan wire, you have to take the cylinder head off to remove it.

Re: sensor removal

ezeke,

That is exactly the part I was talking about and I'm glad I asked. I would never have thought that the head would have to come off to get to it.

Thank you much,

Ps: After reading your answer I checked my manual again and do see where it is installed inside of the head. I need to pay closer attention.

Thanks again!

Re: sensor removal
