Re: selling food out on the water

LOL, been thinking about this since last night after reading one of the earlier replies you got......if the food thing turns into a hassle get a porta john, a small boat to tow it in and charge a buck a person......I am half serious of course but tow it far enough behind you and who knows??? I know of two people in my household that would use one!;)

On the serious side, the food sounds like a heck of an idea.

Re: selling food out on the water

The 3 major waterways I boat on had a Weenie Wagon at one time or another. All were pontoons. All went belly up after 1 or 2 seasons because they couldn't make any money.

The water patrols inspect them to make sure they are propely licenced. As with all food stores, the permit needs to be prominantly displayed. Trying to go without a permit will get you through to the first Sunday afternoon...not any further.

With the insurance, licence, permits and health department BS you need to be a 7 day a week, 12 hour a day pizzeria to survive. Our consessions had boats waiting in line all weekend long, but nobody during the work week. Need much more business to amortize the expenses.

I’ve done some extensive research, find me on Facebook (KimShort) and groups Long Level Sandbar Message board and Sandbar club river rats. I have lots of good info to share.
