It would be fun for a more well to do iboatser than I to go buy it , pour gas all over it and nuke it! Then post the video on here... Any takers? Ill buy the beer and dogs! Or take it 40 miles out and pull the plug , with video of it going to davie jones' locker! Matter of fact ill chip in a $20, only 49 more and its ours!

I think it's going to be a sad day in Mudville when SBL finds out exactly what's wrong with his motor, motors don't just all of a sudden "uggle" to turn over one day unless there's something more than a dirty carb and helicoil problems.

im gonna chime in here sbl i ended up terminating the resto on my 65 starcraft, she went to davy jones locker in the form of a sawzall, because i new i could not resto her correctly(meaning safe, flotation, stringers and so forth) I was made an offer i could not refuse on a 1965 corson hawkline runabout, witch iv e been using all summer(ill start another thread any day now). i think you have to come to a real evaluation on your situation. there is no way you are gonna get a grand($1000.00 ) for that boat. I paid $300.00 for the starcraft, and $250.00 for the corson(minus engine and trailer. but i checked the hull from end to end after learning from the starcraft. yes the transom has to be done on the new corson for my saftey sake about a year from now. but ill do it correctly, i hate to see all this negative input for your sake. i think a lot of the posters are finding amuseing on your behalf(i hope it is not true) be safe, I hope to meet up with you down at fogland or patience island this summer.. your freind

Well here's the thing, people have gave him so much quality information over and over again. I think people are just fed up with his "know it all" attitude when deep down inside he knows he's wrong. It wouldn't be a big deal normally but when OTHERS safety comes into effect it is a big deal. That's a pretty sweet starcraft you got there by the way. I am from Providence myself and am around Patience and Prudence Island every weekend. Maybe I'll see you around sometime!

That, and the youngster will just start another thread with a variation of the same question looking for another response.
I've been gone for months, but I remember this kid's pattern.

It's mildly entertaining, but I'll spend my time on more productive discussions.

Re: sell it or keep it?

lol i will see what i can do about the motor i know i'm not getting a 1000 but ive never seen any one post the price they know they will get i bet i'll get about 600-800 with the boat running. And just to let you know i sail just for this reason.

I went out to day sailing only for a short sail but when your sailing there's no noise other then the water splashing against the hull. You can hear yourself thinking. Also when you look back and realize that your sailing into the sunset. That is one of the best feelings ever, it might take a little longer to get the boat and go and even longer to put it away but it's worth it just that one moment it's you and the water no, noise, nothing but peace.

But other then that i will see what i can do with the motor and see what i can do with the boat i'm not sure what i will do with the boat i know i will sell it but I have to get the motor working and then sell it. i'm not too worried about what i get for it when it sells only if i'm sailing after that i will be happy.

Probably the most solid post you have made. Enjoy the sailboat and good luck making your power boat marketable and safe.

I've been looking for somebody who does trades towards different motors for about a month already. I have a 1991 Johnson 25 HP in perfect running condition but just want something a little bigger ya know. That's too bad that Starcraft looks pretty damn sweet. But I understand if the hull is was warped then that's not good at all LOL. At least you got another boat that resembles the Starcraft. That's usually where I go with my boat. I'm always around those areas. I either launch at Bold Point, Hanes Park or sometimes even 100 Acre Cove in Barrington. I lived in the North End for a while myself off of Smith Street. Right now I am currently living in the East Side. I really hope to see you on the bay sometime, it's cool to meet people from Providence on this site!

EDIT - If that guy has a 40-50 HP Johnson/Evinrude I would be VERY interested in trading my motor and some cash towards something a little bigger.
