selinoid primer

have broken *** on one of the small hose conectors on primer, does this affect the idel and do i need a new one. what does the silenoid do? its a 1983 115 tlcte . idels rough and bogs at high speed!

The primer is used to start the engine when it is cold. It activated like an electric choke. Replace it. If you do not replace it, you WILL get fuel squirted into your engine compartment when try to cold start your motor and push the key in. You can find used primers on eBay for 20.00 sometimes.

thanks alot, thats what i thought. can you also tell me how to check the power packs to see if they are good?

Do what Jayrock said and my questions are, have you checked the compression, spark and been into the carbs ??

have a inline spark tester, yes. did not check the compression and have cleaned the carbs, they are spotless.

511807 is the Bombardier part number for the plastic head for that solenoid. You can replace that part only. See your dealer. An easy fix. Be careful when you go to jam the hose lines on that new head. Those hose barbs break very easily. You may want to put some vaseline on the barbs before you push those tiny hoses on.
