Great find for a project boat.
Thank you everyone for your input. I’ve been bringing back to life a 1980s Monark 1652 and it had some black stuff on the bottom that has been coming off probably at wot. I’ve now discovered a patch after removing the floor. Planning on putting it on its side and pressure washing so I can see exactly what I’m dealing with. May need to weld the spot for all I know.
Anyway I didn’t have a clue what I could put on the bottom that would last and protect it. I’ll call the company y’all mentioned to get what I need.
Good luck on your adventure I hope restoring it brings you as much fun as mine has. You’ll discover there’s always something else you want to add to it. I’m doing led lighting for nighttime. That cabin of yours would be awesome lite up with some leds. Lol Oh and make yourself a plan to fix it up the way you want it. That’s what’s so cool about restoring an old tin boat. Have fun.
