I found this older thread:

but I have searched all over the Internet and I'm not finding this discussed anywhere.
My old humminbird broke, and so I found this old cheap Garmin Striker 4 and gave it a run.
.
I was impressed to see my 360 flasher while trolling.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to get my newer Helix to show it.
.
It's really cool to see exactly your flasher and the fish taking a look at it.
This was in just basic 2D Sonar.
My braided line was at a 45 degree angle and the flasher is still within the cone.
.

It’s possible to see a lure given the right circumstances, but I have a very hard time believing you’re seeing braided line on a 480x320 conventional sonar display.

The display resolution isn’t high enough nor is the beam frequency (77/200) high enough to detect an object 0.010” in diameter

Ice fishing flasher depth finders pick up the lure. Forward scanning depth finders pick up the lure really well if you buy the $20 crank baits designed to be picked up and displayed.

I don't see your fishing line but I do see the lure being tracked...because it was in the transducer cone.

Your other depthfinder/fishfinder may or may not be sensitive enough to see this. You would need to tinker with the location of the transducer to see if it can be tweaked.

Thanks, yeah, I don't think I said it was picking up my line on sonar.
I'm guessing that zigzag image is either my 16oz Cannon Ball lead, or my 360 flasher. Most likely the 11 inch long 360 flasher.
.
I thought it was neat to see it and wanted to hear if others have seen theirs.
.
That was on a Garmin Striker 4 original and at 77khz.
.
My new Humminbird has 80khz chirp and I don't see my gear. I'll play with the settings to see if I can get it to show up.
I'll post a picture if I can get it to work.

Below is a close up of it on the 77khz frequency.

I like to use the finders to pick out spots, I can not stand them for ice fishing. You go with the guys on a Friday night out to the shack and everybody just stares at their screens. Bobber and a minnow and a beer for me.
