Seat sinks

I have a 2000 MB Sports B52, and the passenger bench seat sinks in when sitting on it, at the front inner corner. The fiberglass lip that is suppose to hold the seat, is not sufficient, and I need to add some type of support to this lip. Has anyone had similar problems, and how is it best to do this. I have ideas and pictures, but I want to keep this simple for now, and can pose the more complicated stuff to those interested. Thanks.

Can you screw/glue(like Marine GOOP) in a wooden cleet or piece of angled stainless?

I am trying to decide on building a frame, or screwing into the fiberglass. However I don't want over time for the brace, to break through the fiberglass. Glue is a good option. My first thought is to screw a v support to the fiberglass lip that extends upwards connecting to the glove compartment chamber, but this will make a moment force on those bolts and I am scared they will rip out of the fiberglass over time.
