Seat Post Grease?

Hi guys,

I have a 2 3/8" style swivel-eze seat posts. http://www.attwoodmarine.com/produc...=Seating+Hardware&headername=Seating+Hardware

These are designed to be quick release and move around the boat, however I find they do not work so great after a years use. The black plastic insert in the base begins to wear and the surface is no longer smooth. This makes it a little difficult to remove.

In the past I have greased this up with regular petroleum grease and this normally resulted in grease stains on the boat carpet and the guy who has to move the seat.

Is there a better type of grease for this application? It will be in contact with the black nylon and the aluminum tube. I would prefer something that is not as messy and will be safe to use on the nylon or plastic piece.

Thanks in advance.
