Could someone please tell me the difference between the Seaswirl Tahoe, Sierra and Tempo boats. I've been looking to buy a used boat and have run across these. Are these three boats in a hierarchy of quality or what?

Thanks

Re: Seaswirl boats

I do not know about the seirra and tempo. The Seaswirl is/was made by genmar who also makes Four winns and Glastron. The seaswirl is above the Fourwinns and below the glastron. I would rate the tahoe below the Seaswirl.

I recently bought a seaswirl 217 deck boat and I looked closely at the Tahoe.. I choose the seaswirl for more $$.

good luck in your search

That doesn't sound right.....I don't think many rate Glastron "above" Fourwinns. I'd say it's the other way around for those two, no idea where Seaswirl fits in.

Re: Seaswirl boats

When Genmar bought Seaswirl, it had a really nice line of sport boats. They have since moved their operation from Oregon to Minnesota. I think there were also boats made in Sarasota. The 2007's are the last sport boats they will make. This seems to be a Genmar tactice similar to what GM recently did to have certain models made by Chevy, Buick, and Pontiac. Seaswirl still makes the Striper models, and they are very highly regarded especially by saltwater fishermen.

I love my 2006 170 I/O Seaswirl. I had even considered trading up in a few years to a larger deckboat like Woodee, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

I happen to like the Searays too. I see a bunch of them on the lake we go to in SW Ohio, and they have a similar fit and finish that is comparable to the Seaswirl. Fit and finish is what it is all about; the engines and outdrives are nearly all the same. I also think the Tahoes are sweet rides too. I see lots of them at the lake, and you can get a closer look at the ProBass Shops. The Overtons catalog has a good rundown of Tahoe models and prices.

Go to a boat show if there are still any in your area and get the sales pitch. You can pick some brains of the competitors to see what they dislike about the others brands! =-)

Best wishes.

I can't speak about the other boat brands.
I own a Seaswirl 2601.
Average quality and fit, good ride and drift charteristics.
Priced right where it should be, in the middle of the other brands.

My Brother-in-Law has a Seaswirl Striper with a 4.3L in/out and he says that motor sips gas. It has always run good when I've been out with him. I've owned a couple vehicles with the 4.3L motors and that is a good motor. I do have one objection though, I have an outboard now on my boat and when it's on the mooring my motor is out of the water. Can't do that with any in/out drive.

Re: Seaswirl boats

I just purchased a 2007 Seaswirl 210 with the 5.0 Volvo Penta in it. I am taking it out this weekend for the second time and from what i can tell so far i love it. I looked at the Tahoe Q7i and decided on the Seaswirl. The Seaswirl has a lot more room inside the boat than the Tahoe which was a big selling point for me. But the Tahoe has a coupule more bells and whistles. They both are at about the same price point too. So if your going with a Seaswirl you need to jump on it cause the 07's are going fast.
