sears game fisher boat

I recently purchased older Sears 12' aluminum game fisher boat. Does anyone know how to determine year of manufacture from the HIN# ????

define "older"

If it is pre-1974 it may have just a serial number if any. Some of the earlier aluminum boats had the ID plate glued :facepalm: to the transom and many have fallen off.

If it is post 1974 then the last two digits of the HIN are the year.

Sears has been out of the boat business for some time now.

Thanks much for info. very helpful. last 2 digits are 79 so i assume It is 1979 game fisher. dlc
