Recently acquired a sears boat. Need a little help figuring out the details from the plate on the transum.
Self explained are model:HS-12A...Builder: Harber MFG...(niagara falls, canada)
Other 2 sets of numbers are No:237887 (is this a serial number?) and F-915(no idea what this number is)

FYI only: also picked up for this boat a 10HP Johnson QD-21(1960) for $120. Did a compression test and cleaned the plugs etc..sat for 2 years so sputtered a little, a few minor adjustments on high low speed gauges and now puuuuuurs like a kitten..

Re: Sears Boat

Well, with a 50 year old motor I guess I have a matching boat.."ole tinny rowboat". Oh well, it floats and with the johnson 10HP hopefully will go pretty good.
Not sure about alumacrafts...other plate says "Reynolds Marine Aluminum)..HHmmm, doesn't reynolds make aluminum tin foil for cooking..hehe!

Re: Sears Boat

You should like the rig. 10HP on a 12' tinny should scoot right along.
