I have a 2001 40hp elec start. I found under sticky notes the procedure. However, being a newbie at this -- how to I spray the seafoam into the carb, what do i need to remove to spray into carb?
Thanks

Re: decarbing with Seafoam

if your primer solenoid, has the schrader valve, instead of seafoam, buy BRP Engine Tuner, that has the hose that connect to the schrader valve, it is a much easier process.

Re: decarbing with Seafoam

there is a version of seafoam that can be used just like OMC engine tuner - the instructions are a little different, but it sells at NAPA. the can looks almost the exact same, but it has the aerosol can and you spray it into the carb while running - the directions for decarb are on the can

Re: decarbing with Seafoam

this engine tuner does not have to go thru carbs, seafoan sprayed into the carbs does nothing for the carbs, the only way to clean carbs is to dismantle, and clean, reassemble with rebuild kit.

the idea of a decarb is to clean the excess carbon out of the combustion chamber, and components.
