Sears 7HP info

Hi all,<br /><br />Can someone help me out here...<br /><br />I aquired what is suppose to be a Sears 7Hp air cooled moter. Mod#582 59500 Ser#127976B<br /><br />Any info you can help with i.e. oil mix, yr or where I might find a manual would be greatly appreciated.<br /><br />Thanx

Navexela - the best I can come up with is 582 5950, which is a 1965 3.5hp engine built by Clinton Engines for (Canadian) Simpson's/Sears. The 582 is definitly a Clinton prefix, and the only engines they built in the mid-60's are 3hp and 5hp single cylinder engines.<br />Simpson's/Sears only used Clinton engines (and the 582 prefix) from '65 to '68. That vintage Clinton uses a 16:1 mix. Since they're air cooled engines, you should use chainsaw/weedwacker type oil (TC), not outboard type oil (TC-W3).<br /><br />As for resources, check out this thread:<br />Clinton thread, click here.<br /> <br />It may take a little talking with them to confirm what engine you have, since it doesn't seem to match their production line HP engines.<br /><br />Good luck!
