Sealing windows on my Islander Hardtop

Before I got this boat someone has gooped silicone all over the windows, it is a big eye sore in my book and they still leak. What is the proper way to seal the windows on my Islander hardtop? Thanks

Forum member Tim Fives sealed the windows on his Islander with black 3M 4200. Seems to be working well.

So did he remove his windows? Or just seal around the outside? Thanks

He just sealed around the outside. Sounds ghetto but with the black sealant and black frames it didn't look too bad. Plus if you used some tape and whatnot you could prolly make it look pretty professional.
