Yeah, there are several owners here. Do a search for "sea sprite" in this forum and you'll find a bunch of threads where there's a mention of that brand.

Hi,<br />We have a 1986 Sea Sprite boat.Bought in VA.Live in Jersey.Great little boat.Ours is 17.5ft. long.Mostly use for fishing.Did a little tubing to.Currently it doesn't want to run.Spent most of the summer tuning her up.Guess better luck next year.Why want to buy another one? Will help if I can.

Could you tell me which prop you are using?? I have a Sea Sprite 89 225 cuddy and a merc I/O 5.0. cant seem to get it planed out and rpms at 4100. when it finally planes out, it does 35mph

I own a 1986 sea sprite, looking to sell it. its a 17.5 boat runs and drives with a 4.3 inboard outboard motor.boat is in fair condition.just put brand new captain seats in it but rest of the seats in boat need some tlc.boat is whjite w blue decalls and it does have a trailor that comes w it. just bought a house and cant afford to use it.let me know if interested THANKS

At 4100 RPM either the engine is not preforming as it should or the prop is too tall. I'm think (off the top of my head) an 89 5.0 should be around 4600 RPM at WOT on plane.

Agreed. I'd start with a FULL tune up.
