Sea Rayder F16: low speed, smoke on idle, loud

I have a few separate issues after renovating an F16 with a sport jet 120:

1. The top speed is around 35, when people have said they could get it up to 50. I checked the lower unit and can't find anything wrong but it's old and I'm not sure if wear can cause issues. Any suggestions?
2. On ignition it smokes oil on idle. I've heard that's a good sign but it freaks me out.
3. It runs excessively loud. Has anybody experienced that, or used any dampening for the hatch to reduce the noise?

A stroke engine will smoke.----Using a different oil may help reduce the smoking.------But I have said it many times ---" the whole concept of oil mixed in gasoline is not well understood "
