Just moved to Florida and want to take advantage of the boating opportunity.
I bought an 1986 Sea Ray Seville 2 that has been sitting for 3 years.

I am working on cleaning the electrical contacts at the instrument panel.
I use two 6v batteries in series for testing purposes.

the aft has been gutted because most of it was rotted.
But this opened up the engine which is the famous Merc 470.

Re: Sea Ray Seville 2 Adventure

More pics of the engine.
This MCM 170 or merc 470 had initially overheating problems.
It did take a lot of work to get this fixed, but it is running nice and cool now.
I replaced the cam shaft and seals, new raw water-pump and thermostat.
Cleaned the 4" heat exchanger and exhaust elbow.
Also replaced the starter.

I have the owners manual and specs in pdf format just in case someone else needs them...just pm me with your email.
I tried to attach them but the file sizes are too big.

Good luck on the resto. One thing I did notice is the lack of anodes on the trim cylinders. Being in Florida your going to run into salt water once in awhile at least. I wouldnt forget to add new anodes throughout your drive. Again nice boat and good luck.

Re: Sea Ray Seville 2 Adventure

Nice project! I have an 86 Sea Ray 25' fishing cuddy (http://www.bradkistler.com/boat.htm), and am doing a lot of resto work on it also. I was fortunate - no rot in mine, and mechanically strong with a new crate motor, so my work is mostly cosmetic (a LOT of teak that wasn't cared for!!). What part of Florida are you in - I am in the Tampa Bay area - would love to exchange ideas.
