You were right.
The things I should have known prior to purchase. To late now. I know (cut my losses get what I can and move on) I have read many post of other folks in the same boat (forgive the pun) But I'm so far into this, and I do have another working boat that we enjoy (17' Monty Carlo W/110 Johnson outboard) So I have lots of time. Next step: Does this mean a total gutting of the interior and rebuild from the inside hull up? Most everything else seams solid except for the two boards on each end of the built in gas tank. But the capt. side is soft on top where the fold down back to back seats are. I have them removed now.

One other thing I was a general contractor for 30 years so I know carpentry very well along with many other skills, so this project does not scare me. Just sick I did not know more about these older boats. But you kind folks have sure educated me, and it is appreciated.

Thank you
