Just picked up my old boat from my younger brother this weekend. Going to restore it back to shape . Brings back memories of when my older brother and I first bought it back in 88. Can't wait for spring to get started. Will have lots of questions about how to go. I have seen some great projects on here and hope to be able to get the boat back to service.

As you can tell we're not known to be a patient bunch when someone teases us with a new resto project.

We like lots of pictures. That way we can live vicariously through your progres.

Seriously though lots of pictures are a good thing.

Oh and Welcome to the best place on the web for everything boat.

Hi guys. My boat is a 175fish and ski. Will need to strip all the way down. The floor is real soft. I can't start the project until I move the boat up to the lake so it might be some time depending on the weather. But I have lots of ideas and questions.it looks like the hull is in good shape, no dents or deep scratches. My first question is what type of replacement floor material would be best? I saw a boat with what looked like cedar boards and really liked the look. Can that be done? Please give me your opinion. Thank again. Pete

Most of us use standard exterior plywood. Marine plywood is an option though it is double or triple the cost. It is a good product but will still require sealing. I personally went with 3/4" exterior grade sealed with epoxy.

Yup, what ez said ^^^.

Depending on your structure you can go with 3/4" or 5/8". I feel epoxy is the best method for sealing up the deck but spar varnish is also great. From there you can paint it up with something like porch and floor paint or DeckOver. A better option would be wrap everything in marine vinyl flooring.

All right, we still need some photos of your rig:thumb:

Epoxy is the way to go.Don't forget to seal the edges real good too. Look at Nautelex marine vinyl to finish it off.

Pictures please.
