I have been searching all over trying to find a prop nut for this motor and have come up short. What prop nuts are compatible with this motor and where can I find them

You have a 1960 motor. Prop nut part number is 305469, superseded by 0390716. Same nut was used on Evinrude & Johnson motors 18-20-25hp for a number of years. Should be an easy find. Call i-boats parts dept.

Ok one more question is there supposed to be a washer of some kind between the prop and lower unit or between the nut and prop

Don't think so -- would expect a lock nut, cotter pin and cone in front, and a drive pin behind.

Some gearcase heads had a fish line excluder which was a stainless steel washer pressed into it. Those sometimes fell out, winding up loose between the drive pin and gearcase head-------IF that is what you are seeing. Otherwise, no washers
