Assuming Libby is telling the truth... it does not make Bush look too good.

Speaking of not looking good- have you looked in the mirror to see the shameful glee that is spread across your face over this news?

You are wrong there RF.....
I wish none of this had ever happened....
If politicians could play it straight, there would be no need for cover-ups....
& you are right he might be lying to save his own hide.....
That would not surprise me a bit.....JK

I'll take you at your word.

If Libby's allegation turns out to be true I will definately be supporting a congressional investigation. We just can't have this stuff coming from the whitehouse- I don't care which party is in control.

Re: Scooter Spills The Beans!

Read carefully here guys, Cheney is the link, he says Bush told him to leak. I do not believe W would do this. I do not like him but that is not his style. On the other hand would Cheney use Bush authority without permission. How about "in a New York minute."

This may be the tip of the iceberg for a whole lot of what W is blamed for. I say again, I dislike this administration's work but do not see W as an evil man. Cheney is another story.

I think the Iraq stuff is somewhat of an after thought on the part of the press. The original question was the identity of Valarie Plame who was in Washington DC not anywhere close to the middle East. She wasn't a covert operative by any means! It would appear that either there is more to the story or they want to make it look like there is more to the story.....

I think they are trying to pad the story to make it seem bigger than it is.

Valerie Plame was a covert CIA officer, she just happened to be home at the time.

I cannot see GWB authorizing leak of her name and then standing up and saying to the world that whoever did it was in big trouble. He may be taken in by shaky intelligence, but I don't think he is a liar. I don't think Cheney is a liar either.

It will be interesting to see what other "sensitive, classified" info Libby leaked.

Bush said that he would fire anyone who leaked CIA agent Valerie Plame name to the press. The cat is out the bag. Does this mean Cheney will get the Pink Slip?

If Cheney were to go, who'd run the country? Rumsfeld?

Dubya obviously ain't in charge, never was. Just the puppet. I'm sure he honestly Thinks he's the prez, though. If he's smart he'll dump the lot and get fresh blood in there. Otherwise he's going down with them. I just don't think he has the character to be president all by himself.

Everybody said that Gore would've micro-managed the government. But at least he'd have known what the heck was going on. Dubya's totally dependant on mentors Cheney, Rove, and Rumsfeld. Without that hard shell around him, he's pudding on a stick.

Re: Scooter Spills The Beans!

well to start with if Bush autherized the release of the data it was not classified .
he has special powers that allow the declasification of ANY classified documents on any particular whim, this whim seems to be done in the name of discrediting someone for political gain

but it will be more fun to watch Scooter now.
me thinks he does not like being the sacrificial lambykins anymore.
however todays admission most likly will wipe out his defense to the purjury and lying to the FBI charges.
time will tell.
its difficult to tell one judge a tale of how the leak was autherized by Bush and double checked through the VP's attorney and another jude that you had a momentary lapse of reason and could not recall. but there again its been sucessfully done before.

This is nothing but a game of charade to be soaked up by the American public, the news media organisations are having a great time increasing their ratings and are therefore are able to keep advertising as the #1 money making business in the world.
and you thought all along that it was big oil out there robbing you blind, think again.
If anyone thinks that somehow justice is being served and the law of the land is being upheld in the best interest of the American people, they are idiots, they deserve to be exploited and treated as such.

Re: Scooter Spills The Beans!

I see. We should have a State Run news agency only and let our government tell us what they want us to hear, is that what you're saying? COMMUNIST!

I suppose back in the day, it would've been acceptable for you if Nixon would've come out and said, "We'll look into this Watergate thing and let you know what we find."

Let's be clear about what is going on here. High Treason! Watergate and Monicagate are anthills in comparison to this mountain of lies and deception that we've all been subject to since 9/11. Over 100,000 have died in Iraq by most accounts. Who did Watergate and Monicagate kill? Maybe Dubya will skate on a technicality, but that's all it is ... a technicality. It doesn't make him any less guilty! But frankly when they say that Bush authorized it, it's a whole lot closer to Rove that authorized it, rubber-stamping Dubya's name to it. GW ain't got the smarts to concoct such a web of deceit. Although he certainly seems to posess the Vendetta profile to a T.

It ain't going to go away with Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rove around! It'll only get worse. They've GOT to go! If Dubya ain't got the guts to can them like he promised US he would, then indictments and impeachment should take care of them all. That'll certainly lead to a Constitutional crisis the likes of which this country has never seen. Who takes over if the Prez and VP both go? Do we have a special election or does Dennis Hastert take over (he's third in line after Bush and Cheney if anything were to happen to them)?

The snowball just hit the steep part of the hill, folks. Stay tuned...

How about less hype and Responsible journalism, or is that too much to ask for?

Me a COMMUNIST?

Did you put salt instead of sugar into your morning coffee?
Perhaps you may have looked at yourself in the mirror much longer than you should.
you ought not to pay attention the voices in your head when they're telling you to jump. ;)

Re: Scooter Spills The Beans!

so if the president declassified the info why didnt they just say so years ago and be done with it?
why all the political posuring and yapping about firing anyone connected with the leak? or maybe iut was not Bush that said that and my memory is failing.
what Bush needs is good soldiers I mean aides like ol Ollie.
Ollie fell on his sword so much we thought it was a pogo stick.
however the admin spin machine is making serious amounts of wind already, wish we could harness it for an aux power source.
but either I have had to much coffee and my memory is failing or I seem to remember a Bush speech about firing anyone connected with a leak. maybe ill hunt through the archives and see.
but if it was all legal and proper why did he not just say so long ago and save scoots and the US taxpayer a few million?

Re: Scooter Spills The Beans!

I love the new response. My boys in the R are on their toes all the time. President did nothing wrong because if he authorized info released he was declassifying it and therefore no classified info was released.

You gotta love the double talk but watch the Bush boys buy into hook line and sinker.

Just remember when he was all concerned about the leak and was adamant that whoever committed the evil disloyal act would be fired.

Next maybe we will find out the President can not fire himself now so all is well. Oops remember that Nixon fella, let us see, oh he was a Republican also. That why I joined the party!!!!
