Re: Scientific evidence for decarb
At risk of a hijacking of my own....
I agree with you 100%. In a situation like that where you have such severe ring sticking, it is worth at least a shot to try a treatment of Seafoam. Most likely you would have to do several repeated treatments, Just as in an outboard, you would see a ton of black goo...
Now at risk of an inappropriate hijacking-

In your paragraph you summarize by stating:
"GUESS WHAT! I threw out my KLOTZ oil and will go buy regular chain saw oil for future use. So much for my confidence in synthetic oil."
The closing/ summary of your paragraph provided a tone as if you were trying to turn this into another of those synthetic bashing threads. If that was not your intent, my apologies are in order for accusing you of hijacking the thread.
The primary market niche for Klotz is its clean burn. Especially where tiny amounts of carbon effect APV function (automatic power valves) in racing 2 stroke engines, this oil is probably one of the best in its clean burn. I would suspect that the cause of your original problem did not stem from the Klotz, but from an obviously incomplete burn secondary to either an overly rich carb jet setting or an excessively rich fuel/oil mix.
Where I am definately wrong is that the Klotz tech sheet shows that this oil can be used in TC-2 applications. Again, my apolgies if a hijacking was not your intent.
