Re: School Uniforms

OK ! Here it is yall. The stockholders got a copy of the bylaws of the school and found out all it takes to force the board to revote an issue is just 10% of the stockholders. On the same side of this too is, 10% of the stockholders can remove and replace a board member.

We went to the meeting voiced our oppinion and heres the way it shook out......There will be no uniforms in 2003. Uniforms will be required in 2004 for kids starting in 1st grade and the uniforms will move up with them through graduation of high school. I still don't agree with this, BUT, I have to live with it and besides, my youngun will be in college in 2006 and he won't have to wear them.

OH ! ! Almost forgot...I found out that another one of the reasons that this was even considered and brought up, is that two of the female board members were tired of fighting with their 7 and 8 year old daughters over what they were going to wear to school.

Thats another issue I'm not even going to go into.

Re: School Uniforms

I went to a parochial school that required uniforms. I didn't care, but a good share of the girls did not like them.
After school, they got pretty good at rolling up the waistband of the pleated plaid skirt to the length they preferred.
The boys liked it cause they could tell which of the girls would likely be more fun to hand around at a glance...
As a PS, don't think that some rules are a substitute for good training. I finally went to a public high school for my last two years of school, after 10 years in a parochial school. The kids in the private school, on the whole, were way more wild, with lots of what could be described as deviant behavior, than the public school ever thought of being.
