School Name

My school UWM (a.k.a. University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) wants change its name to "Wisconsin State University" or WSU<br /><br />I actually like the proposal, as it would seperate us from Madison and allow us to not be seen as a lower class "hyphen" school.

I kind of like Wisconsin-Milwaukee. W-M and the NCAA tourney go hand-in-hand. That's just me though.

No kidding - I haven't heard about this... I agree Pony... its a good move. When I was at UWM and people would ask what school I go to, I would respond with "UWM."<br /><br />They say, oh! UW Madison?

LOL @ techno<br /><br /><br />Yeah I get that too Sean. We are the second largest school in the state, and we offer a comparible degree program to Madison........I think it wouldnt be bad to try to seperate a bit from their shadow.

Great lookin' motor P.O.N.Y.<br /><br />It will always be UWM to me.<br /><br />Oh yeah...USC is not in kalifornia. THE USC is in South Carolina. We had the name way long before the left coast ever was.

In California there is a diff between <city name> State University and University of Cal at <city name>. Don’t remember exactly what all the diffs are but the UC at X cost more and is considered more prestigious. I believe UC at X can prep for bar exams and medical licenses, while X State U can’t.
