I have a suzuki 140 hp 4 stroke not turning up past 3900 rpm with

prop in water but with prop out and in gear will turn up past 4500 rpm and

more. 1. changed gas(have new non ethanol gas in now.} no codes being

emitted \, all filters replaced, still cannot get it to rev up when in lake.

Help! boat been in three shops cannot find problem. It use to rev good

gas guage went out and I ran out of gas; started all my problems.

You sucked up a bunch of crud off the bottom of the tank. Hope the injectors are not clogged. As for the engine running faster out of the water than in the water, there is no resistance on the prop so an engine running on half its cylinders can still blow itself up if run wide open with no load. Stop doing that. Three shops eh? Better try a fourth - prefereably one that actually has factory trained techs.

clean your vst filter was that cleaned ?.

if it had codes it would only turn to 3000 rpm and hit rev limiter so it is a fuel problem
