Im a little stumpted here.

Any engine guys out there.

Built a 383 and was pre oiling this weekend and Oil is gushing out of a hole right on top of the oil filter receptical.

It doesent have NPT threads, or else Id just plug it.

Was one of pound in plugs suposed to go there? I didnt think any were missed?

Ill attach a pic of the problem hole but its on my engine. And a pic of my engine for good measure.

I also have an oil pressure port at the top of the engine on the rear galley wall.

The hole by the oil filter location is not threaded on my block.

I tapped the hole 1/8 NPT and put an oil pressure gauge in the upper oil pressure port. Then ran it on a powerful drill and got a solid and consistant 75psi with cold oil.

On my engine there is something threaded in there with some wire connections on there. It maybe called a sender I dunno but the wires that connect to it male the fuel pump cut off if the oil psi is low or nothing.

I think that's where the sender goes that controls the fuel pump. I have a sender for the oil pressure gauge on the back of the intake Mani too.
