painted trailers will last 5 years of dipping in the brine with rinsing prior to rusting out
galvanized trailers will last about 10 - 15 years of dipping in the brine with rinsing prior to rusting out
aluminum trailers will last about 10-15 years and develop cracks

@Woodstock60 when you pull your boat and trailer out of the brine....... rinse it off with a hose

Galvanized trailers are real good at resisting corrosion, if you flush them. Flush them interior and outside. Good ones will have drain holes.

Buy some "cold galvanizing spray" and use it on all exterior rust spots or potential rust spots.

I pulled the rear support off my 1989 trailer to see what rust has formed in the main tube. No rust was detected, however, I do not use it very much, say 4X a year.

My neighbor never flushed his trailer, and it was a rust bucket, after a few launches.

The cold galvanizing stuff really does work I’ve used it on a few spots on the trailer over the years. Both the spray and brush on are good…
