I am about to start the Deck and stringer removal on my 1986 ChrisCraft Scorpion Resto. Are there any recommendations on the proper respirator or would the Harbor Freight version be good? Also, do I need a respirator when laying the fiberglass, or only when cutting it.. AKA dust?

I plan to use a circular Saw(set to the thickness of the plywood) to cut the deck. And probably a sawsall on the stringers once I see what they look like.

Thanks a bunch

A good full face (cartridge type) is what you need. Personally I were mine anytime, I'm cutting, grinding, glassing, etc. Don't take any chances.

Your circular saw is a good idea, done that way a lot. Like you said set to the thickness, do a pilot hole somewhere and measure the thickness to make sure of it, no need in repair a slice in the hull if you don't have too.

Good Luck

For sure the hooded ones, and just a little experienced hint: dust yourself down with some baby powder before suiting up. It really helps keep the itching down when you're grinding that glass.
