You're right, this has nothing to do with trying to silence Rush. Uh hum...right. Nothing at all. Clark and the other Democrates calling ESPN to get Rush fired has nothing at all to do with trying to silence him. I'm sure they would have called if James Carville had made the same comments.

McNabb may be overrated but what does that have to do with being black? There are a lot of overrated players in the NFL and there are a lot of underrated players. What, other than opinion and ignorance, does Rush base his opinion on. I've been listening to his show today and you would think he could come up with something. Maybe he should stick with Clinton bashing.

Re: Rush in not right!

The left, who used to be for free speech and tollerance are now the side of intollerance and silencing of any speech they disaagree with.

I saw Bernard Goldberg formerly of CBS news last night on MSNBC and he made that point and cited example after example.

In his nearly thirty years at CBS News, Emmy Award winner Bernard Goldberg earned a reputation as one of the preeminent reporters in the television news business. When he looked at his own industry, however, he saw that the media far too often ignored their primary mission: to provide objective, disinterested reporting. Again and again he saw that the news slanted to the left. For years, Goldberg appealed to reporters, producers, and network executives for more balanced reporting, but no one listened. The liberal bias continued.

Now, breaking ranks and naming names, he reveals a corporate news culture in which the closed-mindedness is breathtaking and in which entertainment wins over hard news every time.

I don't like Fat-Headed Rush but....I have to take issue with the comments made by Barry Bonds and Dusty Baker made this last season. Bonds should have been suspened from the Giants and Dusty Baker too. Thier comments were far more racist than what Fat-head said. Jimmy the Greek got the royal roast and looks like Rush is smellin' of BBQ sauce. Looks like it's a one way street to me........

It's just typical "liberal" or "progessive" hypocrisy plain and simple.

Re: Rush in not right!

Wvit,
Speaking in generalities, for years the nfl didn't have nearly the percentage of black qbs as any other position. There was a lot of speculation and sensitivity to the issue as it goes to an implied white superiority or institutional racism where qb was the last holdout. People want a great black qb, in the same way there is always a "great white hope" favorite in boxing(Jerry Quarry comes to mind). I think Rush thinks the media has made Mcnabb into a "great black hope".

IT'S ALL BILL CLINTONS FAULT

and what is this "unamed sources" crap, do you people just make stuff up. Read the article everyones name is clearly spelled out. The maid has about 25 quotes with her name in the article.

And the best = rush's response to the whole drug thing " I'm going to wait to see exactly what i'm dealing with before I make a statement"

WTF is that. If I was accused of something that major and didn't do it. You can bet your a55 i would "make a statement"

You can flame me if you want but just wait a week or so, because I have a feeling the mouth will be going down.

OXYCONTIN ANYONE?????? ;)

That is why innocent people go to jail. Because they open their mouths when they should remain silent. Just ask Martha Stewart. She wouldn't be in any trouble at all if she had kept her mouth shut. You think prosecuters care about guilt or innocense? No way! ALl they care about is winning cases, esp those against high profile people.

If he was using them for recreation he should suffer the consequences. If he has a medical condition or never bought them in the first place, then it is a different story.

I'm willing to wait until the truth comes out.

Re: Rush in not right!

My libertarian side says its a shame that the law is required to punish someone as productive as Rush if he is engaging in this self destruction. I bet his taxes support more of the destitute than do all of our taxes put together, to put this in terms our liberal friends can relate to. I have empathy for the man if he has gotten caught up with drugs, like I have for anyone that gets in trouble that way. The difference between him an B.C.?, we will see that it is humility if these accusations are true.

Re: Rush in not right!

^ bump
I'm curious to see all the Rush supporters now that he's admitted himself into detox and has taken himself off the air.
Personally, I think it takes a lot of guts to admit on national radio that he screwed up and is seeking professional help. That doesn't mean I like him any better (I still think he's an egotistical Clinton-(over)basher), but it does show he's human after all.
Any comments? Or is this 'hallowed ground'?

Re: Rush in not right!

As far as I am concerend he didn't screw up. The medical profession failed him as it fails so many when it comes to pain.

The guy had spinal surgery. He is still in pain. He became "addicted" to the pain relief. Rehabs probably not going to work because as soon as the pain relief is withdrawn he is going to be back in pain. Right now he probably forgets how bad it really is. When it comes back in its full glory, he is going to have to decide if he can live with it or not. If he can't back on the relief either received from a doctor or the street or a long dirt nap.

It is unfortunate that the medical profession and the government forces people to become criminals becuase of the obsession with drugs. They force people to live lives not worth living.

If you have never lived with severe pain you can not possibly understand. Hopefully, you will never know the truth from first hand experience.

Re: Rush in not right!

Well ain't that JUST LIKE a right-wing conservative to not take responsibility for their own actions and blame the health-care industry.
With that same logic, Ralph, then alcoholics, crackheads and sex addicts are all not responsible for their own actions?! Get real! It's a wonder you right-wingers aren't somehow blaming this on Clinton...

Man you are so far off the mark it's funny. As for personal responsibility, get real! The left created the victimization and law suit crazy, blame others for your problems culture in this country. It;s the law suit crazy left that has Doctor's running scared and therefore failing to live up to their oaths.

Just like a right winger? what a flippin joke! Just like a left winger to project them selves onto others and claim it's the other side doing what it is they are doing. The left lies so much they don't even know what the truth is any more.

Funny how you're willing to throw out the major tenet of campasion for others when it is a conservative with a problem. You're so blinded by your hatred of the man's political views, a man you call a racist with no evidence what so ever, your willing to abandon what is allegedly a core belief.
