I still support rush....I just watched the clip of ESPN on Sunday. While I may agree with his opinion that the media hypes some quarterbacks and why , I probably would not have offered why I would think that, the way Rush did. He put his opinion out without the neccessary background required for the that perticular audience. Rush came on to strong for this audience and he should have known better. He could have used more tact, oh well, I never saw the ESPN show anyway.

Mcnabb is playing out his role laid out by the lib media. He Crying :( White boy called me Black = Racism

Oh and guess what else The Enquirer and The Daily News says Rush is under investigation for prescription drug fraud. Based on a unnamed Source of course.

Rush likes controversy, but he should have
engaged his brain before making a statement like
that.Especially one with racial tones of that
nature. He knows better.

Re: Rush in not right!

If you haven't heard what he said, in the context of how he said it, without being editted by the tv folks, it looks bad.

If you did hear it all, it makes perfect sense, and is true.

The media has a predisposed position or bias to promote and glorify minority quarterbacks and coaches, even if undeserved. When there is no news, the media creates their own, thats how they make a living. Rush's comments were simply that Mcnabb was/is overrated and not to be given so much credit. So how does that make him a racist?

I've been saying the same thing about Brett Favre.
Does that make me a racist or a bigot?
No, I am just tired of all the hype over this guy that makes way too many bad decisions on the field.

Rush was a moron on this one!! This is all we Eagle fans need is another distraction for the team. Yes McNabb is over rated but not so much for the reason's Rush said. There are always over rated highly paid players out there.

Re: Rush in not right!

I agree Rosco. I hate to say it,l but I think hurried that statement and it sounded ackward to me as he said it. As if he made a point to get that out. He should have waited for a better or another opportunity to view his point. He of all people should have known that no one in that forum whether media or NFL would have supported him once the sh!t starts flying.

jgregory , heres Rushes response.

web page

Re: Rush in not right!

I think McNabb is a good quarterback who just had a rough start. Your only as good as the guys around you. So, I really don't agree with Rush.

I'm a Titans fan, and I know we would be nothing without McNair. Has nothing to do with the color of his skin, he just happens to be the best QB in the league................(boy, I can see the arguments now) :D

Re: Rush in not right!

when I watched his comments live, I sensed no
malice or predjudice. As far as I know he was
being paid to be opinionated and controversial.
watch out what u ask 4, u may just get it ;)
and I don't really like Rush, but he's got as
much right to speak as me or you IMO.
freedom of speech?
too bad he chickened out and resigned...

Right on Kenny and Roscoe! The have been waiting for years for a way to lay into him and they are going to play this one for all it's worth. I can see the political cartoons in the papers like the NYT now, with Rush in a Klan outfit and a bag of pills shouting racial slurs into a microphone at a football game!

Rush made his comments with 3 black men right there. He said he thought McNabb had been hyped and over rated by the media and the League becuase they want to see black QBs do well. Right? Wrong? Who cares. It was his OPINION. It's like saying Jerry Cooney was overrated and hyped because he is white when he fought Homes. HE WAS!

Rush saying something stupid cannot be a big surprise to anyone--it is what he does for a living.

I am starting to feel the way the Pilgrims must have felt. I am just getting so sick and tired of the BS in the great country. I wish there was another new world to set sail for.

Re: Rush in not right!

One of the ESPN channels ran an hour long show last week, on all the Black qb's that were great qb's but were just "tokens" (yes a quote) and did not get their "fair" share of playing time. So I'm sure ESPN management was hit directly in the face by Rush's comment.

Imagine Clark and the other Democrat Candidates called ESPN to demand Rush be fired? WTF? Pandering scumbags.

Re: Rush in not right!

Compared to what the Eagles had McNabb was looked at as the saviour of the team. Then he was injured last year. I do not think he ever really recoverd from that or the loss to the Bucs. Philly fans are a different breed and they put alot of preasure and hype on when you do well or bad. Everybody in Philly is treated that way by the medi, I do not think it has anything to do with race. If what I read was correct and having listened to Rush's radio show when I was younger, before I had a brain. And knowing how the main stream media hates him. He left an opening so wide you could drive a truck through it and they are going to take advantage of it. It shouldn't hurt him at all he never paid attention to his critics before so why start now.

Re: Rush in not right!

I seem to remember Isaah Thomas saying Larry Bird was just an average ball player, but was considered exceptional because he was white (or something similar to that), We didn't hear the rev's Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton calling for Isaah's head on a platter. An opinion is an opinion and he has a right to voice it. Just another excuse for these ****ing activists to play the race card. Another case of the man trying to hold a brotha down.

Re: Rush in not right!

Ok, I know I'm gonna pi$$ off a bunch of people on this site, but that's tough.
Rush Limbaugh has always been an outspoken anal-retentive loud-mouth ultra-conservative who made the last 10 years of his career ultra-bit#%ing about Clinton and blaming everything from the price of eggs to the price of oil on liberals/Democrats (he uses both words interchangably, and they're NOT the same). I, for one, will be glad when he gets his 'come-uppance', but I think I'll never live to see the day when he just shuts the he77 up. If & when the ClearChannel talk-radio station in my area ever takes him off the air, it will be a grand day.
There! I've exercised my First Amendment rights and y'all can start the rippin' anytime. I've got broad shoulders and can take the strain.
Peace & Love,
Brian

Well say what you will, he is far and away one of the most influential people in this country and is in no small part responsible for the shift this country has undergone. I imagine that is really what has your shorts on fire.
