Hello again, I'm doing some trouble shooting out of the water and need to know about running on muffs. How long can I run the engine on the muffs and is it ok to shift into gear while on muffs also is there a max RPM. Thanks for the help.
I have run my alpha 1 and 350 motor 1/2 hour on muffs with no ill effects,I dont see why you couldnt run it all day. I have run it in gear and up to 1500 rpm, no problems
As long as you have water running to the muffs, you could run it for a week... I wouldn't recommend more than 1500 revs. If you go too high, the pump sucks more water than is available and you end up with a dry run condition and damage the pump impeller. If it's late model V engine, then you also have a minimum of 1200 revs...
