running 'in' a new motor HOW?

He Guys,<br /><br />Just bought a new Mercury 75 ELPTO,<br />Any tips on running in this engine ?<br /><br />tnx in advance

They mounted a new motor on your boat,and didn't give you a break-in procedure? I'd march right back to the dealer and with bloodshot eyes, ask them if they want to rebuild your engine under warauntee in a few months!<br />Each motor and manufacturer has different oil ratios, oiler setting, runtime ,and other instructions that must be adheared to. Sure,just as in cars, you fiind the maverick boater who rides it hard and puts it away wet, without regard to proper break-in. But unllike 4-strokes, the 2-cycle engine is very unforgiving of this.

He 12 Footer,<br /><br />That's clear talk !<br />The engine still has to be mounted.. so they did not had the chance to explain me anything.. :) <br /><br />Had some bad experiences with dealers<br />so it's always good to hear some different opinions on a subjects..<br /><br />tnx for the reply..<br /><br />grt. OK, well they may give you the owner's manual after the install. But do make sure you get an owners manual with the engine before turning the key.Failure to do so,and adhere to the instructions,will void your warantee.
