Run/Stop safety switch

Having just bought my Tahoe Q4 a month ago I am assuming the Run/Stop switch below the throttle control is a safety device which should have a wrist harness attached to it. (which it hasn't)
Are these universal or manufacturer specific?

I have been trying to find a replacement here in Dubai but cannot locate one for my boat.

Each time I go out I think more and more about what could happen should things get out of control and it scares me.

Any ideas or suggestions for an alternative fix greatly received.

One other thing, I have trawled the internet before asking this....what does I/O actually stand for?

You could probably use any lanyard you can find. As long as it fits in when the switch is up, and opens the switch when pulled. There's nothing fancy about it.

You need to hook it to your life jacket or belt loop as your hand needs to be on the wheel & or throttle. My jackets have a loop for the lanyard already on them.
