Yeah John, I'm pretty much sold on a kicker as the way to go. Just not this year :( Maybe I'll keep an eye on Craiglist and see what's out there.

I still want to keep the 1200 watt-- I can see using it to charge the boat battery on land if I take the boat up north, or taking up to my friend's land up north if he needs electricity to run power tools or something.

I buy and sell small outboards as a hobby. CL IS the place to find them. Check daily and be ready to act fast. You should be able to find something in a 4-6 hp that runs and looks good for $300-$400 when your ready.

I always will have my jumper box with me? Enough to start and its a power pack for more trolling time if needed.
