Re: rubber gaskets?

This isn't any help to you but I have a 1961 Crestliner Del Rio 17. I need the same part (gasket). I've heard you can still get a windshield for around $300 but if you search this site there is a whole article on how to make your own posted by one of the "gurus". I'm gonna check back on your post and see what answers come up. Good Luck.

I don't know how specialized the gasket you are looking for is, but try J.C. Whitney. They have several types of weather striping and generic style gaskets.

Try these folks. They make hunderds of different moldings and gaskets. They were the only place I could find that made an almost exact replacement rub rail for a 1977 Chris Craft. Look through both industral and marine catalogs.

http://www.wefcorubber.com/marine.html

Great link thanks Buttanic! I hope Pickupmn doesn't mind me butting in here, did you order from them? Do they have a minimum order/charge or something like that? I'm always in need of a few feet of this or that.

Might also give http://www.waterbonnet.com a try. They make windshields and rubber trim also. Their website isn't much to look at, if you send them small 1' sections of the types you need, they'll match it. I replaced all the rubber trim types on my 87 Grady this past fall.

Re: rubber gaskets?

They have a 25 foot minimum. I ordered 55 feet of rub rail and when I measured it it was close to 70 feet they sent. They do not stock they make it when you order. To use a similar Taco rub rail would have coast $600, I paid $140 for it.

Re: rubber gaskets?

Wizard,

Nice Boat. Is that the 9'-3" beam on the 23'?

I replaced all the rubber trim around both the front fixed windows and both side windows, including the felt material on the sliding windows. I even replaced the small rubber wiper in-between the sliding windows. All for about $60.00. I originally sent several 1 ft sections to the Florida factory. They called me to tell me they forwarded it to their Tennessee factory after they couldn't find an exact match. Very nice folks to deal with. Anyway, keep your old material for templates for angle cuts. In fact, I wouldn't take them out until your ready to replace them, one at a time. Might use a hair dryer to warm up the rubber to make it more pliable and easier to install. Good Luck.

As for boat glass, make a pattern and go to your local glass shop. They can have it manafactured for you way cheaper then 300 bucks for replacement. A rivet gun is about 15 bucks.
