What would be the peak RPMs of a 50-year old johnson 6-HP outboard engine?

5200-5400 tops...just a guess..depends on the boat and prop

50 years dates it at 1957, and there was no such thing as a 60hp Johnson then. Impossible to answer your question without better identity of the motor.

Assuming a 1965 (first year 6hp), it was rated at 4500 rpm, full throttle operating range 4000-5000rpm. The 5.5hp was a bit lower because it didn't have needle bearing rods. 4000-4500rpm. All bets are off if you mean an antique (pre 1950) 6hp.
