Re: Rough week for me - Prayer requests
OK, so Stacey's Funeral is tomorrow @ 10:00 . . . and . . . we have our Nephew's Wedding in Havasu @ 4:00 . . . Only 289 miles apart . . . we have 5 of us and we're going for it. Just like Stacey, since she can't go to the River, she's gonna make us work for it. You go girl!!! We sat around tonight thinking about tomorrow, and all we could think was she's supposed to be here popping a Miller Lite. That's all she would drink, so we decided we're taking a sixer to the Wedding Reception, one for Stacey and the rest for us.
This is really a drag . . . we are trying to remain positive, but she's gone, disappeared, evaporated, gone. That's all I could think all day. She was all around us, she was with us camping, boating, she was with us at the Hollywood Bowl, she was talking to lonely neighbors, she was energetic, pretty, hot, funny, goofy, paranoid, silly, all of it until late last October, then . . . There will be 15 families from our local neighborhood alone there. I expect a huge turnout, and there will be. She touched a lot of people.
We spent a little while out front with her oldest today, Garrett. Mostly Mrs. QC; I was chasing the Beagle around
He went to school with our oldest. Like the rest of us, he (they) has been trying to figure this out for 4 months. He told us of her last minutes. Amazing story. She had been in a coma for 24 hours and Garrett slept with her last. Everyone woke up at 7:00 AM Wed. and joined him with her. Bob kissed her and she grimaced at his morning breath
everyone got a chuckle out of Mom. That was their Mom, reminding Dad to brush his teeth before the morning kiss . . . Classic Stacey and they all knew she was there and then . . . she was gone . . .
