Sorry about your troubles Coop. In my case, broken back (twice), broken heel, cracked elbow, bum shoulder, bad knees, planters fasciitis in both feet and TMJ in the jaw. Don't look to me for spare parts. You're better off sticking with WOG to do the surgery. Get well soon buddy.

Coop, Like you, I"ve been dealing with a gimpa$$ shoulder for years as well and just been putting it having something done about it. Keep us posted on how it goes......good luck my friend.

What a timely post. I am at the point where I need to get in to verify that I have some issues with my rotator cuff as well. I've been working out heavily for a number of years and it is starting to catch up with me. My workouts are now nearly useless having limited range of motion and simply can't lift much at all this last couple weeks. My preworkout ibuprofen regimen is now useless. I fail one of the three self-diagnosis tests from youtube pretty miserably.

I would recommend doing PT to try a correct any weakness or lack of movement.

My opinion is to stave off any surgery until it is absolutely necessary.

Even if you need surgery the pt will make it stronger and rehab should be a little easier.

Plus one on that^^^^!!!! You want to be strong going in with as much range of motion possible.

When you do go for surgery make sure they install a grease zerk

Isn't it amazing that when a muscle groups or joint starts to fail, how every movement you make seems to effect that muscle group. When I had a total collapsed right hip, even blinking my eyes seem to hurt my hip. However after a Loonnnggg while after surgery, I can pretty much can do as I like now... Of course there is PT and while that really does hurt, you have to force yourself through it to get back to something resembling normal. Hang in there incoop and know that we all are praying for you... :thumb:

Generally good advice, BUT, do see an orthopedic specialist before just jumping into PT as it could conceivably make things worse. In my case surgery is the only option since I have a full rotator cuff tear and those don't heal on their own. Jkust, I hate to say it, but it sounds like you're headed for surgical intervention too. Let's hope it's not labral tears.

^^^ Agreed with above and in most cases a PT wouldn't see a person without a referral.

I have a partial tear, and at one point many years back it took 9 months to lift my hand above my shoulder. Now it works very good but still it is not as strong as the other. No surgery yet.
