Rolling a SIB on fenders

I use my SIB strictly in Lake Superior. The past five years I've been running from a mainland base camp but want to camp out on the 20 plus islands in the Apostle Islands this year. The problem is the waves. I could anchor the boat off shore but I know I won't sleep worrying about it. I'd prefer to bring it up on beach away from the pounding waves. I'm thinking the boat fenders would work by using them as rollers under the boat but haven't tried it. The heavy 4 stroke is the problem of course. I'm not drilling into the transom to install ugly wheels either. There are plenty of locations with flat rock I could roll the boat up onto which I suspect the fenders would roll better on anyway. Once I had the boat in far enough I would pull the fenders out. Any thoughts?
