Getting ready to paint the topside and gunwhales of my Texas Maid bikini blue, as soon as the Petit paint arrives. Need to ask those with experience what brand/nap roller and brush is best for this chore? I have access to the usual box stores and several small paint stores and run of the mill hardware stores.

Re: Roll and Tip tools

I have had the best results using thin foam rollers and taper tip Badger hair brushes you find at marine suppliers.
If you are going to a home center you can try using foam rollers and china bristle brushes. The thing to remember is that polyurethane paints are solvent based. So get rollers made for use with solvents and brushes with natural bristles. Cheaper rollers can break down in the paint and contaminate the surface and cheaper brushes will lose bristles. They can be a real pain when working with already temperamental paint.
So remember, you need rollers good for solvent (paint tray liners too) and good quality brushes with fine tapered bristles.
