I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out the vin number on a trailer I just bought. I can't get a title without the vin number and I can't get the trailer tagged without a title. Had I know it would had been this much trouble, I would have bought a different boat. I have a 24ft Rolco pontoon trailer and you can't read the sticker on the tongue. Any change that they would have the vin number stamped somewhere else? I already talked to the highway patrol about assigning me a vin number, but this trailer isn't eligible for that. I would have to go in front of a judge and do a quiet title and I don't really want to spend that kind of money. Thanks to anyone who might be able to point me in the right direction.

welcome aboard

call the trailer manufacturer or get the information from the prior owner.

each trailer manufacturer puts the VIN in a different location, and many times, it is on a printed sticker that fades in the sunlight. many trailers older than a few decades didnt have vins.

you wouldnt be the first one to have to buy a new trailer to be able to title/register it.

Didn't you get paperwork with the trailer?
