River Drift Controll

New guy here. I have a Lowe 170W and planning on fishing the Kankakee River in Indiana. Anyone have any ideas on how to slow down while drift fishing.Heard of some guys dragging chains or weights to slow down the drift. What is everyone else using.

Look into drift socks! I use them to slow down my drift as well as keeping my boat from swinging in the wind at anchor.

If you have a electric it can control a drift well. A drift sock works but won't give you the control a bow mount or transom mount electric will.
