Rinker 2007 232 loose steering

Anybody know how to get the play out of the steering? The out drive bearing is ok been checked. Problem appears to be in the steering not the out drive. Anybody replaced the steering unit.

Ayuh,.... Exactly where is the play,..?? How much play,..??

Is it rotary cable helm,..?? Rack, 'n pinion helm,..?? Hyd. helm,..??

Teleflex tilt steering uses cables no power. Have to turn the wheel 2 inches before the lower unit turns.

Ayuh,... Ya still need to isolate the slop, 'n Id exactly where it's sloppy,...

have someone shake the wheel, while someone holds the drive, 'n yer lookin' at the connections...
then have the wheel held, 'n the drive shaken...

Yep listen to Bond-o. Got to find out where the play is at, the wheel or the drive.
If it's the wheel, that's better. If it's the drive, and it's too far gone, you're talking $2500 to repair it.
