:) Why should one or two groups or organizations try to interfere with our "RIGHT," to hunt and fish in this great country of ours??? Two known groups, the humane society & funds for animals have merged together to do just that!!! Hunting with bow and arrow,a tradition, has been around for many years and now is threatened!!! ;)

Re: RIGHTS

Wait til the wild life unhunted begins bathing in their pools, and ransacking their homes. Nothing like a deer crashing thru a patio door on a saturday night. More fun than a 3 car pile up in the Sumner tunnel.

:) The anti's here in mass. got trapping band back in the early 90s!!! Some of the antis live in flood plains around rivers and the beavers started building dams and a few yards have been flooded and the fish & game would not do anything about it!!! Well guess what!! Trapping will be back on the books this year!!!

If any of you want to know what is going on in your state, they list all the bills that are before your states legislature go to: www. ussportsmen .org just push everything together before you click!! Been poofed once already!!! ;)

Happy Holidays!!!!

Re: RIGHTS

Hey FlyRod,
Didn't they have to open up Quabbin Resevoir to hunting after having it as a "nature sanctuary" for so many years because of deer overpopulation?
Perhaps the "Anti's" should look at pictures of the landscape there (totally ravaged by grazing deer) and take a look at what a starving deer looks like, and perhaps (probably not) they would change their minds.

Yeah, this is way more humane than hunting them...

Re: RIGHTS

:) I was on the program at "Cranes Beach" for seven years to help reduce the deer herd, which alot of states use today for their programs!!! That program is still in effect today!!! It was estimated that the beach area had at one time over 600 head of deer, which the habitat could only sustain about 70 deer!!! The vegatation was devastated, ground was covered with 2-3 inches of droppings!! Every deer taken were brought to a make shift deer morgue, every harvestered deer was autopsied and files kept on health, growth and deer tick infestation!! And from this program the hunt at the Quabbin Reservoir began, which was a plus for all concerned, healthier deer & vegatation restoration!!!

And yes the antis were there but could not get close to the operation cause the road to the area was closed and guarded 2 days aweek during the hunting season!! ;)

Re: RIGHTS

Why are those who are most outraged and most active in "conservation" (read: banning) are those with the least exposure?
