Well I did it. Bought a 1983 Allison bass boat with a 1984 115 Evinrude for $400. This boat was sitting on the property where we are renting in a shed where half the roof blew off from one of the last hurricanes. It had been sitting there so long the tongue jack had sunk a foot down in the mud. So the stringers and floor are shot and the transom is cracked. The fiberglass and topside are really in good shape. If it wasn't for this website I don't think I would tackle such a project. I just hope I can do as good of a job as some of the project boats that I seen on this site.
