Hello, I'm kind of new here, so I'll be simple about this.

I'm restoring a boat that has been sitting in the weather fro a few years. Engines fine, same with fiberglass - looks great. I'm at the stage now where I am reapplying the wood that has rotted out on the inside int he areas - no big deal.

It all comes down to where to shop for some of marine carpeting and vinyl I'll be needing. I've looked around myself, but I'm not necessarily pronounced in shopping for marine refurnishings. Any particular website to look for? Any tricks to actually putting the carpet down (Staple gun vs an epoxy)? I'm just doing a total makeover for my vessel.

Re: Reupholstry and Recarpeting

there are a lot of suppliers of carpet and upholstry (google it). make sure it is marine grade and will hold up to the outside conditions. no staples! the fewer mechanical fasteners in the floor, the less chance for water penetration and rot. use a marine or outdoor carpet adhesive. it is applied with a notched trowel...
