Retrofitting a trim sender (2021 Yamaha F25LC)

Ahoy Folks,
You Guys and Gals have a heck of a lot of knowledge and experience and I would love to tap into that :).
I have a fairly new Yamaha 25hp Yamaha four stroke with power tilt and trim, also have the round Yamaha tacho that has a section to indicate the trim position. The trouble is my motor wasn't fitted with a sender (seems Yamaha didn't put them in this model). The motor doesn't seem to have any bolt holes etc for any trim sender fittings.
I am hoping someone has come across this before and has successfully fitted a sender and then had the gauge reading an accurate trim reading.
I was hoping to fit the sender from another Yamaha model to my outboard.
Alternately is there a generic sender or sender from another brand that fits outboards not equipped with senders?
Would love to hear what you good Folk come up with. Any diagrams, photos, part numbers etc will all be received with thanks.
All the best from down under,
Keep safe,
Arthur

Have you looked at all of the various 2021 Yamaha F25 models at the Yamaha website to see if one of them has a trim sender installed?

Hi boscoe99,
I had a quick look at the diagrams but couldn't see anything, I'll check all the F25s.
Appreciate your reply :)

Hi boscoe99,

Just checked and couldn't locate any other 25hp with the sender whereas it looks like some 30hp's have one. The parts from the 30hp appear to be:
-Trim sender 67H-83672-02-00
-6K9-43139-11-00.
But for the life of me I can't see how that would fit/mount onto my F25LC.

Would love any tips or success stories :)

Thanks,

Arthur

I got to ask, why do you need it?
I just rim until the boat is running well.
too far and you bump it back down a little

Hi 99yam40,
I suppose I am not the best or most experienced Skipper, and want to make sure I don't tilt the motor up too far when I am zipping along at speed and I also fish in some shallow creeks so I would like to see easily that I have got the motor too far up when I am trolling - would hate to over heat my motor.
Just hard to tell from where I sit.
Any tips - I am all ears :)
Thanks for you reply, I appreciate it.

if trimmed to high at speed the bow will bounce up and down or the motor will rev up as the prop loses bite.
can you see your tell tail from where you sit?
that tells you if the water pump is pumping water,

Good tips,
Unfortunately, can't see the tell tale without moving from the seat.
Your knowledge is certainly useful, I'll follow that, many thanks.
Any tips for low speed shallow water motoring when needing to lift the motor for shallow water?
