Hi everyone! Im new to this site and im just a diy guy so please excuse my lack of knowledge. I have a 97 cajun bass boat that has lost its luster. When i bought the boat (used) there was a place on the back of the boat that looked brand new. The guy at the dealer ship said they had a rep come in to sell them a product to restore oxidated boats. He said the rep just to a can of this stuff (like a 1gal paint can) took a rag dipped it in the product and rubed it in. The stuff worked AMAZING! But now that i want to restore the rest of the boat i cant find this stuf and im hoping yall can help me out. The place i got The boat from is out of bussiness now. That spot is still the best looking spot on the boat. Do you guys know what that product may have been and where i can get it. Thank for the help in advance!

Re: restoring gel coat

NO idea what might have been applied, but do you have a pix of the 'restored' portion & some of the rest of the boat?

Is a '97 Cajun bass boat done w/ metal flake? I bet it is, that complicates things, sometimes significantly.

Yep i is a metal flake. I dont have any pics of that spot right now but ill try to get some up when i do. The dealership said it was like $80 a gal (which is why i didnt buy it at the time) but since i cant find the stuff now ive been trying to do what i can. But nothing compares to what that stuff did. Ive done the wet sanding polished buffed and waxed which made it look a lot better. I remember the dealer said that the rep said it basically broke down the gel coat and made soft like and it basically respead itself to fill in any pores and cracks leaving it w a like new wet look
