Good job with that find. I sure hope you have the funds, time and patients to finish this. That could be a nice boat when you are finished.

Cool! It's nice to take the first step & not find any real bad surprises (like a big hole in hte bottom). Good luck with that as a fun project. One thing nice about those early runabouts, there's not a lot in them to go wrong.

Nice looking boat!!I'm excited to see what the finished product is going to look like. I hope you start a thread on the restoration forums.

That's awesome. I always want to know the stories of boats like this. Why was it left there, etc.

I think it will be well worth it when all is done. Sure you will never get your money out of it if you sell it, but do any of us with any boat we have every owned?

with all the love you are putting in that boat, that boat is going to love you.

And I know from experience, there is no greater thrill than the day you launch a boat you built (or practically built).

And it's great to see a thread end up this way. So many start with a guy with a junk boat who thinks that with an hour of unskilled work and $75 in parts and equipment he can have the whole family tubing on the lake. You, on the other hand, understand reality and rise to the challenge.

Which is why I am now spending more time than it's worth on an old family boat, too.

here's to personal satisfaction and turning heads when we (finally) get them runnnig!

Well, i for one think it's great that you hauled an abandoned boat off one of our rivers. If you get it restored, even better, but at least you have a dream, and that's more than half the task, right there. Good luck and keep us posted.
